An 11:11 EXPERIENCE (Production Company), run by partners Michael Leoni, Michelle Kaufer, and Erica Katzin, is a Los Angeles based production company dedicated to creating projects that promote social change. 11:11 was conceived from the idea that film and theatre have the capacity to create connection, encourage compassion and engage and inspire audiences. Deadline: Announcing the Othello Producing Team
EXCLUSIVE: Grammy winner and Real Housewives vet Kandi Burruss and husband/entrepreneur Todd Tucker have joined the producing team of next spring’s much-anticipated Broadway revival of Othello starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Burruss and Tucker previously collaborated with Othello producer Brian Anthony Moreland on the Tony Award nominated revival of The Piano Lesson as well as The Wiz and Thoughts of a Colored Man.
Moreland announced the pair’s participation as Othello producers today. Also announced was the co-producing roster, which will include football player-turned-actor Devale Ellis and A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical producer Ken Davenport.
The first Broadway revival of the Shakespeare tragedy since 1982’s production starring James Earl Jones, Christopher Plummer and Dianne Wiest, the spring 2025 staging will star Washington as Othello, Gyllenhaal as Iago and Broadway newcomer Molly Osborne as Desdemona. Kenny Leon directs.
The revival’s line-up of co-producers includes Ellis, Adam Zotovich, Richard Batchelder, Davenport, Lassen D’Arrigo, Score 3 Partners, Lu-Shawn M. Thompson, Lamar Richardson, Cohen-Willman Productions, 11:11 Experience, 42nd.club, Hunter Arnold, Craig Balsam, Slater Bernon Butterfield, Goehring Turchin Alperson, Great Shakes Productions, Branden Grimmett, Marguerite Steed Hoffman, Christen James, The John Gore Organization, Willette & Manny Klausner, Scott H. Othello will open at an as-yet-unannounced Shubert theater in spring 2025. Production dates, venue and additional casting will be announced soon. The revival will play a strictly limited 15-week engagement.
The creative team will include Derek McLane (scenic design), Dede Ayite (costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), Justin Ellington (sound design), Mia Neal (hair and wig design), Claire Warden (intimacy director), Narda E.
